Description and requirements:

Each year, the National Catholic Committee on Scouting awards scholarships to seven outstanding Catholic young men or women who are high school seniors and currently registered and an active member of a Scouts BSA Troop, Venture Crew, or Sea Scout Ship. The applicant must have earned the Eagle Scout Award, Summit Award, or Quartermaster Award; have earned the Ad Altare Dei or Pope Pius XII religious emblem; and provided service and leadership to their Church, Community, School, and Scouting.

Award amount:

Seven separate scholarships are awarded:
1st Place – $5,000
2nd Place – $4,000
3rd Place – $3,000
Plus four additional $2,000 scholarships

Applicant must be currently registered and active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. He must have earned the Eagle Scout Award; have earned the Ner Tamid or Etz Chaim religious emblem; be active in a synagogue; and have demonstrated practical citizenship in the synagogue, school, Scouting unit, and community. He must demonstrate financial need.

Award amount:

One $4,000 scholarship disbursed at rate of $1,000 per year for four years.

Eastern Orthodox Committee on Scouting (EOCS)

Description and requirements:

Applicants must be registered and currently active in an approved scouting organization (BSA) and must have earned the highest award of that organization (Eagle Scout) and the EOCS Alpha Omega Religious Award. We select applicants who best demonstrate love of God and the Orthodox Christian Faith through service, scholarship, leadership, and practical citizenship in their church, school, scouting unit, and community.

They must be in their final year of high school and be active communicants of an Eastern Orthodox church, recognized by the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the USA. These include: Albanian Orthodox, Antiochian Orthodox, Bulgarian Orthodox, Carpatho-Russian Orthodox, Georgian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, Orthodox Church in America (OCA), Romanian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox (Moscow Patriarchate), Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR), Serbian Orthodox, Ukrainian Orthodox. 

Award amount:

$1,000 scholarship (one-time; up to two are awarded annually)
