Spencer Long (2002), Eagle Scout and founder of the BSA Alumni Educators Affinity Group is continuing to follow the Scout Oath and Law by remaining helpful and loyal to the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) and younger Eagles. Over the years, Long has spoken at numerous Scouting events, and has been featured in Aaron on Scouting articles for the sole purpose of preparing Scouts for scholarship and admission essay season.
He believes that his class should not just prepare a Scout for the NESA Scholarship essays but any essay or scholarship they will be facing in their college career. These writing tools Long teaches are fully applicable to multiple platforms while also preparing Scouts for the NESA Scholarship process. During his classes, Long provides sample essays that represent what a good and bad essay looks like. He also reminds Scouts that when applying for a NESA Scholarship, they are one out of five thousand other Eagle Scouts, so they need to find something outside of Scouting that separates them from other applicants.
This season, NESA is hosting an exclusive session with Long on November 7, 2024, at 7 PM CT. The ONLINE Zoom will last one hour and fully prepare any Scout for what is to come.
