Simple Ways to Give Your Eagle Pride A Purpose - The National Eagle Scout Association

Simple Ways to Give Your Eagle Pride A Purpose

This new year holds great promise for the National Eagle Scout Association’s (NESA) role in the future of Scouting across the country. On our journey to Eagle, we each faced what seemed like insurmountable obstacles. We now must apply those lessons to make sure the mission, values, and time-honored traditions of Scouting are available to future generations.

That’s why I am calling upon you, my fellow Eagle Scouts; to give your pride new purpose during this, our 50th NESA Anniversary.  Because now is a critical time for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).  If you believe in Scouting as I do, you can do your part by acting in five simple ways to give back to the organization that gave you so much.

#1 JOIN the National Eagle Scout Association. Your membership empowers Scouting’s mission, protects the Eagle Scout legacy, and keeps Alumni connected. Join today!

#2 GET INVOLVED with your local council. Local councils are looking for leaders like you. Use our council locator to reach out and offer your help. For example, volunteer to serve with your local NESA committee.  We always seek a more diverse active membership too.  Help identify and encourage Eagle Scouts of all ages, gender, and ethnicity to get involved with NESA.

#3 GIVE Support Scholarships for Eagle Scouts or become a NESA Legacy Society member. Or choose to support any other BSA cause close to your heart at the national or local level.

#4 UPDATE your contact information through my.scouting. We want to be sure you’re getting the information you need.

Rest assured that the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) is much more than the premier Alumni fellowship within the Boy Scouts of America. I consider NESA one of the largest sources of trained and experienced leaders who continue to make a tremendous, positive impact on our country. Together, we can do much more.

Now is the time for all BSA Alumni, and especially Eagle Scouts, to do everything we can to ensure the future of Scouting.

The BSA needs NESA to do more, better.  Success requires teamwork, leadership and service from you, my fellow Eagle Scouts.  Here’s to the next 50 years of a strong, vibrant BSA and National Eagle Scout Association.

Yours in Scouting,

Frank Tsuru

President, National Eagle Scout Association
