Rick is president of Philanthropy1TM consulting in Richmond, Virginia, providing board development, communications, and philanthropic services nationwide. A Distinguished Eagle Scout, Silver Buffalo recipient, and lifelong Scouter, he has been involved with Scouting Alumni and Friends since its beginning, presenting at Philmont Training Center, Boy Scouts of America National Annual Meetings, and “road shows” across the country. A current council NESA and BSAAA Committee chair, he also serves as a vice president of the National NESA Committee. He also created and serves the chair for the American Wood Badge Alumni.

He and his wife, Debbie have one daughter, Kelsey, who served on the Philmont summer staff.
