Michael started his Scouting adventure in 1958 as a Bobcat. He earned his Eagle with Silver Palm in 1965 in New Orleans, LA. He has been active in Scouting for over 50 years, serving in many roles. His roles include Tiger Cub Organizer, Den Leader, Cubmaster, District Commissioner, District Advancement Chair, District Chairman, Council Technology Chair and a member of the Council Executive and Advisory Boards. He served on the NESA Trading Post staff at the National Scout Jamborees in 2013, 2017, 2023 and 2026.
He earned four Scouter keys, the St. George medal, the Distinguished Commissioner Service award, the District Award of Merit, the Silver Beaver and the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. Michael is the NESA Vice President of Training, a member of the NESA Store Support Team and the NESA Scholarship Team. He is a James E. West Fellow, a NESA Life Member and a NESA Legacy Society Fellow.
Outside of his Scouting career, Michael recently retired from AT&T with over 53 years of service where he was responsible for a network of over 4,400 Central Offices with over 100,000 routers and switches. He is a Life Senior Member of the IEEE. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, Electrical Engineering curriculum, from the University of New Orleans.
Michael has been married to his wife, Christine, for more than 51 years. He has a daughter, Kristen, and a son, Michael, who is also an Eagle Scout.
