An Eagle Scout with over 40 years of service, Steve has served as an Assistant Scoutmaster, District Committee Member, Unit Commissioner, District Commissioner, and District Vice-Chair of Administration and Finance Committees.  He has also served as Council Executive Board Member, Deputy Council Commissioner, Council Commissioner, Council Membership Vice President, OA Section Adviser, Western Region OA Committee Member, Gateway Region OA Committee Member, National 411 Task Force Member, and member of the Order of the Arrow National Committee. Steve currently serves as a Circle Ten Council, BSA Council Executive Board Member and a member of the National BSA Alumni Association and Council Fund and Finance Committees.

His Scouting recognitions include the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, Commissioner Arrowhead Award, Scouter’s Training Award, Commissioner’s Key, Distinguished Commissioner Service Award, Silver Antelope, William Hornaday Gold Badge, NESA’s Outstanding Eagle Scout Award recipient, NESA Silver Wreath, NESA Distinguished Service Award and the Order of the Arrow’s National Distinguished Service Award and is an OA Vigil Honor Member.

Steve has served on the staff of the National Order of the Arrow Conference for each event since 1986 in the areas of Training, Special Events and Endowment. His Jamboree staff experience includes: 2010 (Registration), 2013 (National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) Exhibit – Program Lead), 2017 (NESA Exhibit -Program Lead) 2019 World Jamboree (Global Development Village – Program Lead) and 2023 (NESA Exhibit- Lead). He will serve as the 2026 NSJ – NESA Exhibit Lead.

When asked what one Scouting achievement he was most proud of it was being presented the Hornaday Gold Badge for his work on ArrowCorps5 and SummitCorps as well as getting to work with outstanding young leaders in the Order of the Arrow.

Steve is supported by his wife, Lynn.  He is a Brand Engagement Center Learning, Development, and Training Analyst for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Steve has earned both a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration and Master of Business Administration Degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Outside of Scouting, he works with Sigma Pi fraternity, the California State University Dominguez Hills Alumni Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Circle X Ranch Foundation, the Ostrander Scholar Society, and for ten years has chaired the Double Vigil Golf Classic to support the Maury Clancy Indian Campership Fund.  Steve has been recognized as one of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Top Volunteers of the Year.
